About

A voice with something to say

Rosella is Ella Bridges Thomsen — an eighteen year-old singer-songwriter from Hobart, writing songs about love, friendship, justice and freedom.

She has been around music all her life. Her dad is a singer-songwriter, and she has fallen asleep to the sound of his guitar since early childhood. She has sung in school choirs, ensembles and musicals, and in recent years in the youth showcases at the Cygnet Folk Festival — graduating in 2025 to solo shows of her own original songs.

Her lyrics carry a maturity and social conscience beyond her years. She is committed to social justice and the betterment of humanity, and she has a way of expressing those ideals with a light touch. Alongside keyboard, she is currently adding guitar to her song accompaniments.

She hopes to connect people through her music — with both relatable personal stories and rallying cries for a better world.
